Travel Insurance through Mexican providers
Travel Insurance for Mexico through local providers
As the snowbird season approaches, travel insurance will be a very popular topic among hundreds of thousands of travelers.
With so many options available online, and with all of them promising to be the best, how can you ensure you are acquiring a plan that gives you peace of mind for your trip? Well, here are some tips shared by our Travel Insurance experts at Guardian
Regarding the Provider
- Do they have offices in Mexico? Having a local provider in the country you are traveling to is a game changer, and that’s because the provider has the advantage of knowing how to navigate through the Health and Insurance systems in Mexico, thus if you have a claim, the process won’t be something new to them
- Another advantage if the provider is local is that their hospital network will usually be wider and easier to access than that of a foreign provider
Regarding the Broker/Agency
- Is the broker also in Mexico? Similar to the advantage of a local insurance company, if your broker is located in Mexico, you will have someone to go to for assistance and proper guidance. And if you are not satisfied with the outcome of a claim, your broker has the proper licensing to advocate for you with the corresponding parties and authorities
- Also, if you have questions about the way your policy would work, and would like to meet with someone in person to understand it better, having a local broker/agent can make that possible
These are only some of the tips shared by our Travel Insurance Experts at Guardian Insurance MX.
